Conditions — Prostate & Bladder
Prostate & Bladder Problems
Urinary symptoms, prostate enlargement, bladder conditions and PSA concerns — consultant-led assessment and treatment, available within days. Not months.
When to See a Specialist
Prostate and bladder problems are among the most common reasons men see a urologist — yet many men delay seeking help, assuming their symptoms are simply a part of ageing. They are not something you need to simply put up with.
Whether you are experiencing difficulty passing urine, getting up frequently at night, concerned about a rising PSA result, or worried about prostate cancer, Mr. Jesuraj provides rapid, expert assessment in a private, unhurried setting.
Private care means no waiting lists, a full 45-minute consultation, and a clear treatment plan — often including same-visit diagnostics.
Seek assessment if you experience:
- Weak or interrupted urine flow
- Difficulty starting to urinate
- Frequent need to urinate — especially at night (nocturia)
- Sudden, urgent need to urinate
- Feeling that your bladder hasn’t fully emptied
- Blood in urine or semen
- Raised or rising PSA blood test result
- Pain or burning when urinating
- Recurring urinary tract infections
Conditions We Treat
Prostate & Bladder Conditions
Mr. Jesuraj assesses and treats the full range of prostate and bladder conditions — from the benign to the complex.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
Most CommonBPH is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that can partially or fully block urine flow. It affects the majority of men over 60 and is highly treatable.
Typical symptoms
- Weak or slow urinary stream
- Straining to start urination
- Frequent urination — day and night
- Incomplete bladder emptying
- Urinary urgency

Prostatitis
Often MisdiagnosedProstatitis is inflammation of the prostate gland, which can be acute (sudden) or chronic (long-term). It is one of the most frequently mismanaged urological conditions, often confused with BPH or infections.
Typical symptoms
- Pelvic pain or discomfort
- Pain in the perineum, testicles or lower back
- Painful or burning urination
- Painful ejaculation
- Urinary frequency and urgency
Assessment & management
Raised PSA & Prostate Cancer Concern
Urgent AssessmentA raised or rising PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) blood test result requires specialist interpretation — not all elevated PSA means cancer, but it must be properly assessed. Mr. Jesuraj provides rapid investigation and clear, honest guidance.
Reasons to seek assessment
- GP-detected raised PSA result
- Family history of prostate cancer
- Unexplained urinary symptoms
- Bone pain or unexplained weight loss
- Abnormal prostate on examination
Investigation pathway
Overactive Bladder (OAB)
Affects Men & WomenOveractive bladder causes a sudden, uncontrollable urge to urinate — with or without leakage. It significantly affects quality of life but is very effectively treated when properly diagnosed.
Typical symptoms
- Sudden, intense urge to urinate
- Urge incontinence (leaking before reaching toilet)
- Urinating 8 or more times in 24 hours
- Waking more than once per night to urinate
Treatment options
Haematuria — Blood in Urine
Always InvestigateBlood in the urine — whether visible or detected on a urine dipstick — should always be investigated by a urologist. While causes are often benign, it can be a sign of bladder or kidney pathology that requires prompt assessment.
Types & causes
- Frank haematuria — visible blood in urine
- Microscopic haematuria — detected on dipstick
- Causes include: UTI, kidney stones, BPH, bladder tumour
- Can be painless — do not ignore
Investigation
Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)
Recurrent & ComplexRecurrent UTIs — particularly in men — often indicate an underlying structural or functional problem that needs urological assessment. Simple antibiotic treatment without investigation misses the root cause.
When to see a specialist
- Two or more UTIs in six months
- UTI with fever or loin pain (possible kidney infection)
- UTIs in men (always warrant investigation)
- UTI not clearing with standard antibiotics
- Associated haematuria
